Apollo Quiboloy refers to himself as the “appointed Son of God,” and the police claim they won’t leave until they have located him.
His 30 hectare (75 acre) compound, which has about 40 buildings total—including a hangar, a school, and a cathedral—is thought to be where he is hiding.
For months, the authorities have been searching for Mr. Quiboloy. He had threatened to “not be caught alive” earlier.

Following their late-saturday raid on the Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) complex, police reportedly deployed tear gas on Mr.

Major Catherina dela Rey, a spokesman for the Davao police, told a news agency.
Hundreds of Mr. Quiboloy’s supporters have attempted to impede traffic to the compound by blocking portions of a key roadway.
They uphold his innocence, claiming that the accusations made against him are untrue.
During the police raid, one of the group’s supporters passed away from a heart attack.
According to Maj. dela Rey, police have reason to suspect that Mr. Quiboloy is holed up in an underground bunker thanks to technology that can supposedly sense a person’s heartbeat behind walls.
