PESHAWAR: The results of the next general elections, which are scheduled for February 8, will be significantly influenced by young voters in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, who are those between the ages of 18 and 35. This was reported by The News on Tuesday.
10,791,779, or 49.74% of all voters, are registered to vote up until the age of 35, which is the greatest percentage of any age group.
Comparably, 4,420,754 voters between the ages of 36 and 45 and 2,847,155 voters between the ages of 46 and 55 are registered to vote.
At 1,810,333, or 8% of the total, voters in the province with the lowest age range are those between the ages of 56 and 65. Similarly, 1,822,360 are said to be the number of voters older than 66.
In the province, men make up the majority of voters (55%), with just 45% of female voters.
Documents from the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) show that there are 21,692,381 voters in KP overall, consisting of 11,830,683 male voters and 9,861,698 female voters.
In the province in 2018, there were 8,704,628 male voters and 6,609,541 female voters.
In 2019, however, there were 10,817,960 more male voters than female voters (8,132,940 total). Similar to this, there were 8,457,201 female voters and 11,076,763 male votes in 2020.
Male voter turnout grew to 11,486,688 in 2021, while female voter turnout was 9,124,560.In 2023, there will be 11,830,683 male voters, whereas the number of female voters is now 9,861,698.
