In the Team Cup, a three-day matchplay competition akin to the Ryder Cup pits Continental Europe against Great Britain and Ireland.
In the 2023 edition, Molinari from Italy led Continental Europe to victory, and Rose from England will captain Great Britain and Ireland for the first time.
The National Course of the Abu Dhabi Golf Resort will host the 2025 competition from January 10–12.
“It’ll be strange going up against Fran in a matchplay competition rather than him being on the same side,” Rose stated.
But despite knowing it may be difficult given Fran’s past, I am actually looking forward to it.
It will be fantastic to have the opportunity to try and shape the exciting talent from Great Britain and Ireland into a winning squad, as they now compete in the DP World Tour.”
“I’m thrilled to have the chance to captain Continental Europe again and to try and successfully defend the Team Cup,” Molinari continued.
