On Monday, two mobile clinics with the mission of assisting some 14,000 amputees arrived in Gaza.
According to medical estimates, at than 14,000 people have suffered injuries and lost one or more limbs, according to Jordanian Armed Forces Brigadier General Mustafa al Hiyari.
“Our proposal stands out not just for the quantity of prostheses it offers, but also for its speed—a prosthetic limb may be fitted in under an hour, according to experts.
“The vans with the necessary equipment will go to those who are unable to get to the hospital.”
Most amputees from the war are unable to leave Gaza to receive treatment outside of it.
The UK-based businesses Koalaa and Amparo, who have both created simple-to-fit sockets for prosthetic upper and lower limbs, are involved in the program.
Digital registration of each fitting will enable virtual follow-up appointments with specialized physicians located in Amman, the capital of Jordan, or anywhere in the globe.
