RAWALPINDI: During an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in the Dera Ismail Khan District on Thursday, security personnel killed at least two terrorists, including a “high-value-target.”
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) released a statement claiming that the IBO in DI Khan was carried out by the security forces because to the “reported presence of terrorists”.
“Intense firefight between own troops and terrorists occurred during operation; as a result, terrorist Burhan Ullah and HVT terrorist ringleader Ashraf Sheikh were sent to hell.”
The military’s propaganda wing said that the terrorists who were slain also had firearms, ammunition, and explosives found on them. It went on to say that the terrorists were still actively engaged in a number of terrorist acts, including the murder of defenseless bystanders.
According to the ISPR, a sanitization effort is underway to get rid of any further terrorists that may be present.
The statement said, “Locals in the area expressed their full support to eliminate the menace of terrorism and appreciated the operation.”
It is important to note that Pakistan had an increase in terror occurrences just before the country’s eagerly anticipated general elections on February 8.
Earlier today, numerous bombs were reported in various regions of Balochistan, including the province capital Quetta, leaving at least one person dead and four others injured.
