The 1950s drama Tightrope! is coming back with Bryan Cranston and Ty Burrell.
According to Deadline, the former member of Modern Family is prepared to play the lead role in a humorous reboot of the CBS American crime drama, which executive producer Bryan Cranston will produce under his label.
The story of undercover agent Nick Stone (Mike Connors), who infiltrates criminal groups and organizations, is followed in the original series.
Since both law enforcement and criminals are unaware of Nick’s true identity, the name of the show alludes to Nick’s life as he balances good and evil in order to stay undercover.
The upcoming show “reshapes the drama of the vintage 1950s series into a slapstick comedy,” according to the streaming service.
According to the description of the show, Burell will play “a lone wolf detective following cases city to city, while he searches for his long-lost love who got away” in the series.
The six-episode series has been approved by Roku and will be produced by Moonshot Entertainment in Cranston, Village Roadshow Television, and Burrell’s Desert Whale Productions.
