Following Maestro, Nicolas Cage has nothing but admiration for Bradley Cooper.
The 60-year-old actor mentioned him during the premiere of his new film Arcadian at the South By Southwest festival in Austin, Texas, on Monday.
Nicolas revealed what he and the 49-year-old filmmaker discussed at the Academy Awards earlier this weekend, saying he was “very impressed” with his work on the Leonard Bernstein biography.
He also told PEOPLE that he would love to work with his Hangover co-star again if given the opportunity.
“Bradley is an excellent actor. I like what he’s accomplished,” Nicholas continued, complimenting the ‘A Star Is Born’ actor on his tremendous effort in his endeavors.
“Jerry Lewis used to say to me, ‘You’re not a filmmaker unless you star in, direct, score, and edit your own film.’ “And Bradley is doing that,” Nicolas explained.
His appreciation comes after Bradley was nominated for Best Actor and Best Original Screenplay for his role in Maestro.
