A Home Office minister has stated that the UK is keeping “a very close eye” on the situation and that any possibility of British jihadists returning from Syria would be “a concern.”
The government is keeping an eye on the “very fluid” situation in Syria after Bashar al-Assad’s administration was overthrown, according to Dame Angela Eagle, the minister for border security and migration.
The vast majority of foreign fighters imprisoned in Syria are housed in northeastern Kurdish-controlled jails devoid of Syrian insurgency organizations.
Dame Angela stated that British intelligence agencies will be “watching very, very closely,” even though there is no sign that the security situation at those camps will alter anytime soon.
