According to official data, Pakistan received $3.21 billion in remittances in July, the first month of the current fiscal year, continuing the monthly average of more than $3 billion.
Remittances decreased by $190 million month over month and by 7% year over year despite the robust influx.
The largest remittances, totaling $820 million, came from Saudi Arabia, according to a country-by-country breakdown.
The United States came in second with $270 million, the United Kingdom with $450 million, and the United Arab Emirates with $665 million.
The steady influx emphasizes how important Pakistanis living abroad are to the nation’s economy in the face of persistent financial difficulties.
