ISLAMABAD: According to the former spymaster’s attorney, the military trial of former Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) director general (DG) Lieutenant General (retd) Faiz Hamid is anticipated to wrap up in the coming weeks.
In an interview with The News, Barrister Mian Ali Ashfaq stated that he and his two colleagues are representing Gen (retd) Faiz in the ongoing military trial of the former intelligence head.
When questioned about whether the former head of the ISI is endorsing the case against Imran Khan, the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, Mian Ashfaq responded, “I cannot confirm any such thing at all as the proceedings of the trial are covered within the scope of Official Secrets Act.”
Faiz did not dispute the start of a military trial when questioned about it. “I’ve seen various reports in the media.”
