Jaguar Land Rover (JLR), the biggest luxury car manufacturer in the UK, has announced plans to invest £65 million ($81 million) to increase its bespoke paint services in response to rising demand from affluent clients.
The plan calls for the opening of new paint plants in Nitra, Slovakia, and Castle Bromwich, UK.
Owned by the Tata Group of India, the company says it plans to more than treble its bespoke paint business, which includes assisting customers in matching the color of luxury Range Rover SV models to their yachts or private planes.
It comes after Rolls-Royce made a similar announcement earlier this month, announcing that it would invest £300 million to produce more highly customized models of its vehicles for extremely wealthy clients.
