PESHAWAR: According to sources who spoke to Geo News, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)’s Swabi rally on February 8 had lower than expected public turnout due in part to internal party bickering and a lack of funds for workers’ transportation.
At a gathering in Swabi on February 8, supporters of the party of former prime minister Imran Khan protested what they called a “black day”—the first anniversary of the general elections in 2024—when they said their mandate had been stolen.
The coalition government disputes the party’s claims that elections were significantly skewed.
PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan spoke to the crowd, emphasizing the importance of addressing Pakistan’s economic problems and stating that political and economic stability are intertwined.
