Rana Aslam, a unique candidate of Pakistani descent, has declared that he will be taking a day off from his government position to run in the Canadian elections.
According to Aslam, he will quit his job if he wins; if not, he will go back to work the very next day.
Aslam, who is running from the Hamilton riding under the Liberal Party of Canada banner, has garnered a lot of support from Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney, who has made two trips to Hamilton to campaign for him.
It’s interesting to note that Aslam works as an engineer for the Hamilton government.
