A resolution denouncing India’s hostile intentions and unfounded accusations was overwhelmingly approved by the Pakistani Senate.
In a united statement to the Modi-led government, all of the parliamentary parties—Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), and the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP)—stated that although Pakistan is a country that values peace, its nuclear weapons are not just for show but will be used if necessary.
The resolution was written in collaboration with Federal Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar, PPP Parliamentary Leader Sherry Rehman, and Opposition Leader Shibli Faraz. According to the resolution, all parties had united to send a single message to India on the matter of national security, putting aside their political differences in the process.
