On Thursday, King Charles and Prince William concluded the nation’s four days of celebrations to commemorate the 80th anniversary of Victory in Europe Day by laying wreaths in Westminster Abbey.
The Abbey’s Thanksgiving service started with a two-minute pause, which was also observed nationwide to commemorate Nazi Germany’s unconditional surrender on May 8, 1945.
The King and the Prince of Wales paid their respects to those who lost their lives during World War Two by placing wreaths at the Grave of the Unknown Warrior.
