The families of the victims of the Jaffar Express train attack in the Bolan district of Balochistan received a compensation package of Rs5.2 million and jobs in his ministry on Saturday, according to Federal Minister for Railways Hanif Abbasi.
“Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir decided that terrorists, whether in Pakistan or those who have fled to other countries, would not be spared,” the minister said at a press conference held at the Pakistan Railways Headquarters in Lahore.
Around 440 passengers were held hostage during a daylong standoff with security forces in a remote mountain pass after the banned Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) attacked the Jaffar Express, which was headed for Peshawar, by blowing up a train track.
