During his first official visit to Albania, Sir Keir Starmer stated that the UK is in discussions with other nations to establish “return hubs” abroad for unsuccessful asylum seekers.
After their applications were denied in the UK, the prime minister announced the government had started talking about processing asylum applicants overseas.
Although Albania said it was not a party to the negotiations, he did not say other nations were engaged or where unsuccessful asylum seekers could be deported.
In order to unveil distinct steps to combat illegal immigration and organized crime, Sir Keir traveled to Albania.
