Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has reassured that the government is taking the required steps to ensure the welfare of Pakistani citizens in Iran and Iraq, despite the current state of insecurity and the disruptions to aviation operations caused by the ongoing fighting.
FM Dar took to X to announce that plans were underway to release 154 students who were stuck in Iran and that up to 450 Pakistani pilgrims had been evacuated from Iran on Saturday.
“The Pakistani Zaireen who are stranded as a result of the airspace shutdown are in communication with our Embassy in Iraq. He stated that steps are being taken to guarantee their safe stay in Iraq and potential evacuation.
The Foreign Office’s Crisis Management Unit (CMU) was working, the minister stated.
