TEL AVIV/DUBAI: President Donald Trump stated on Sunday that he would be “open” to his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin serving as a mediator in the Iran-Israel conflict and that it is still possible for the United States to become involved.
According to News, the Republican president emphasized that the United States is “not at this moment” involved in the military action, but he did say in an interview that “it’s possible we could get involved” in the ongoing conflict between the Middle East’s arch-enemies.
Regarding Putin’s probable role as a crisis mediator, “he is prepared.” He gave me a call about it. We talked about it for a long time,” Trump said to a reporter for ABC News.
