ISLAMABAD In an effort to defuse tensions with Israel in the face of growing concerns about a wider conflict, the United States has urged Pakistan to keep up its part in the continuing peace initiatives with Iran.
According to a statement released by the Prime Minister Office, the development occurred on Friday when US Secretary of State Rubio called Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
In their friendly exchange, the prime minister wished President Donald Trump well and commended him for his fearless leadership.
Additionally, he praised Secretary Rubio’s vigorous diplomacy, which was crucial in assisting India and Pakistan in reaching a ceasefire agreement and preventing a serious conflict between the two nuclear-armed nations.
