ISLAMABAD Barrister Gohar Ali Khan, the chairman of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), stated that the party was under tremendous pressure from its members to achieve the release of Imran Khan, the party’s founder and former prime minister.
Gohar said during an appearance on News’ “Talk” show that PTI was expressing its demand for Imran’s release in all relevant forums.
Since his removal from office in April 2022 due to the opposition’s no-trust motion, the 71-year-old cricket player-turned-politician has been imprisoned since August 2023 after being charged with several offenses ranging from terrorism to corruption.
He voiced dissatisfaction with a recent decision by the Supreme Court’s Constitutional Bench, saying that seats gained by the PTI were unfairly distributed to other parties.
