Since the GHF began operations in late May, when Israel partially lifted an 11-week total siege, more than 500 Palestinians have been killed while attempting to access aid, according to a joint statement.
According to organizations like Oxfam and Save the Children, armed groups and Israeli authorities “routinely” open fire on Palestinians who are trying to get aid.
Israel claims that the GHF’s method delivers relief directly to those in need, avoiding Hamas intervention, and denies that its troops intentionally shoot aid recipients.
The GHF said that other organizations “stand by helplessly as their aid is looted” and that it had provided over 52 million meals in just five weeks.
The GHF is breaking all humanitarian work standards, according to a joint statement released Tuesday by some of the largest charities and NGOs in the world.
