According to a Kremlin aide, Russian President Vladimir Putin told US President Donald Trump over the phone Thursday that Moscow seeks a negotiated end to the war in Ukraine but will not abandon its initial objectives.
The assistant, Yuri Ushakov, told reporters that Trump “again raised the issue of an early end to military action” in Ukraine during a broad discussion that also touched on Iran and the Middle East.
“We continue to seek a political and negotiated solution to the conflict,” Ushakov stated, quoting Vladimir Putin.
