KARACHI: Moonis Alvi, the CEO of K-Electric, has been ordered to resign from his position by the Provincial Ombudsman of Sindh after he was found guilty of harassing a female employee.
Alvi was also fined Rs2.5 million by Justice (r) Shahnawaz Tariq, the Provincial Ombudsman for Protection Against Harassment of Women at Work. Within a month, the fine must be paid.
As to the verdict, the KE CEO caused the claimant mental distress and harassment.
The ombudsman has instructed authorities to freeze Alvi’s movable and immovable assets in the event that he does not follow the ruling.
According to the verdict, if the fine is not paid, his [Moonis Alvi] passport and CNIC may also be blocked.
