Sharon Stone played Catherine Tramell in the 1992 film Basic Instinct, a part that called for her to be enigmatic and alluring. She did a scene where she crossed her legs in keeping with her persona.
Despite having the legal power to erase the sequence, which she did not utilize, the actress said she had no regrets about the film in an interview with Business Insider decades after it caused a stir at the time.
“I firmly believe that nobody at the time understood what we were getting in relation to that shot, and Paul [Verhoeven] was afraid to show it to me because he didn’t want to lose it. And I understand it,” recalled the 67-year-old.
