ISLAMABAD: Salman Akram Raja, the secretary general of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has announced his intention to resign from his position. He said he will meet with Imran Khan, the founder of the PTI, tomorrow and ask him to relieve him of his responsibilities.
“There was an occurrence today that requires me to make a firm decision. My life is transparent. No principle is violated by anything I do. In a post on X, he stated, “I will ask Imran Khan to resign from his position tomorrow [Tuesday].”
In September of last year, after senior party leader Omar Ayub resigned, the senior lawyer was named PTI secretary general.
In June, Ayub had stepped down from the role.
