According to Musadik Malik, the Federal Minister for Climate Change and Environmental Coordination, some of the nation’s most influential individuals have constructed hotels directly alongside rivers, increasing the damage caused by floods.
He said, “The unfortunate part is that those granting them NOCs (no-objection certificates) are also from among us,” during the Naya Pakistan show on Geo News, which featured a comprehensive discussion on governance failures, floods, and climate change.
It was acknowledged by Malik that “Pakistan’s early warning system remains incomplete.”
