In his report on President Biden’s improper handling of secret data, Special Counsel Robert Hur characterized the president as a “sympathetic, well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory,” which has caused some to wonder how he could respond in a crisis.

In an interview with Fox News Digital, a number of national security specialists discussed whether they believed that Joe Biden would be able to lead the country in the event of a national emergency with strength and decisiveness.

Former Deputy National Security Advisor K.T. McFarland asserted that Biden’s dementia “is plain for all to see, but especially for foreign leaders,” and that Biden’s “irreversible decline” and capacity to lead the country present a “dangerous” reality that projects weakness on the international scene.

“It poses a risk for two reasons. It first strengthens the argument that America is a spent force. For years, Chinese authorities have been telling the world that China represents the future and that America is irreversibly declining. According to McFarland, who worked under previous President Donald Trump, Biden “embodies irreversible decline, giving credence to the idea that America’s supremacy on the world stage is over.”

“Second, because foreign leaders know now is the time to press the U.S., to take advantage of a leader who is not only weak but confused,” McFarland stated.

In response to a question concerning Biden’s capacity to govern the country in light of his alleged memory issues, retired Lt. Gen. Keith Kellogg criticized the Biden team as a whole, claiming the president has always taken “a long time to make decisions or to do something” when facing opponents.

Fox News contributor Kellogg stated, “You know, when it comes to national security, you know, it all really comes down to the commander in chief, the president of the United States.” “Obviously, you want your commander in chief to be well-informed at all times, and advisors are meant to do just that, but able to make conclusions quickly that are logical and clear.”
