Due to lengthy NHS waiting lists, GPs have sent patients with major mental health difficulties to the Jade Youth and Community Centre for treatment. The Jade Center likens the assistance they provide to food banks.
He admitted to News, “I felt really depressed and sad, like I wasn’t supposed to be alive.”
“I kept injuring myself, striking myself as hard as I could against a brick wall. And one day I suddenly realized that I didn’t want to live, so I wanted to cut myself.”
At just 11 years old, Sebastian is a schoolboy clothed in a blazer, school tie, and white shirt.
In the counseling room where he has been receiving treatment for the past few months, he is seated next to his mother, Monica.
Playground bullies were the reason he fell into this dark realm; he claims they almost drove him to suicide.
“I was severely abused by the bullies; they kicked me and made me bleed. It was quite painful. And it had been going on for a while,” he stated.
Monica expressed her desperation to support her son.
“My child’s happiness is the most important thing in my life, so I felt terrible. And I started crying when I saw he wasn’t happy. My heart burst from the agony.”
She brought her son to the family physician and conveyed the gravity of the situation, mentioning that her son had been self-harming and contemplating suicide.
