Multan Sultans defeated reigning champions Lahore Qalandars by 60 runs on Tuesday, the team’s sixth consecutive loss in Pakistan Super League (PSL) season nine.

Multan scored 214 for the cost of four wickets before restricting Shaheen’s men to 154 for a 60-run triumph.

Usama Mir was Multan’s outstanding bowler, taking 6/40 in four overs. His results are the fourth best in the competition’s history.

In PSL 9, the Sultans triumph, while the Qalandars continue their losing skid.

While chasing, Fakhar Zaman and Sahibzada Farhan looked solid in their partnership for the first wicket, scoring 54 runs, but there were no significant contributions after their dismissals.

Fakhar received a vicious yorker to get bowled by Aftab Ibrahim after adding 23 runs from 16 deliveries

Farhan (31) showcased an impressive batting performance before ultimately falling victim to a delivery by Khushdil Shah.

The early wickets piled pressure, but Rassie van der Dussen attempted to steady the batting but received little help.

Kamran Ghulam and Sikandar Raza followed suit, losing to Faisal Akram with scores of 12 (off 9 balls) and 17 (off 7 balls), respectively.

Skipper Shaheen Afridi only added 9 runs to the total before being stumped by Usman Khan off a bowling from Usama Mir. The middle order crumbled, and despite a late push by Carlos Brathwaite, who went undefeated on 14 runs off 7 balls, the side was bowled out for 154 runs in 17 overs.

Previously, Usman Khan produced a dominant innings of 96 runs to help Multan reach a huge total  214-4 against Lahore.

In their first match of PSL 9 away from home, Multan chose to bat first. However, Lahore made an early breakthrough with captain Shaheen Afridi dismissing opposing captain Mohammad Rizwan in the opening over.

However, the Sultans mounted a swift response, with to a magnificent 70-run partnership between Reeza Hendricks and Usman Khan, before Sikandar Raza dismissed the former.

However, the Sultans responded quickly with a magnificent 70-run combination between Reeza Hendricks and Usman Khan, before Sikandar Raza dismissed the former.

Hendricks bowled a 27-ball 40 with seven boundaries, including one six.

Khan maintained his aggressive style and created a dominant combination with Tayyab Tahir, scoring 77 runs in just 40 balls for the third wicket.

Tahir managed only 21 runs before being removed by Carlos Brathwaite with the score at 151 in 15 overs.

Iftikhar Ahmed joined Khan and wrecked havoc with a magnificent undefeated cameo of 40 runs off 18 balls, including two boundaries and three sixes.

Khan, on the other hand, scored 96 runs off 55 balls, embellished with 13 boundaries, including two sixes, missing short of a century.
