Although Hartley, 24, had a breakthrough series during England’s tour of India, it appears that Lyon will be the preferred option when they play in Lancashire this summer.
Hartley told news Sport, “I want to try to replicate him.”
“To be an international cricketer you have to able to perform in different conditions and Nathan is a guy that can really help me.”
Before earning his Test debut in the first game of the series in India, left-armer Hartley only participated in 20 first-class matches.
With 20 victims, Hartley is the most prolific wicket-taker on both sides after four Tests. In the first game of the series, his game-winning 7-62 was the best score.
