Film producer Emma Thomas, his spouse, is to be awarded a damehood.
Although Nolan had received six Academy Award nominations in the past, he had never won an Oscar for directing until this year’s event.
Nolan studied English at University College London after being born in London to an American mother and a British father. He selected UCL because of its filmmaking resources.
Additionally, it was there that he met Thomas, his future wife, with whom he has four children.
Co-directing Nolan’s major motion pictures, which include The Dark Knight trilogy, Inception (2010), Dunkirk (2017), Interstellar (2014), and Tenet (2020), were Thomas, 52, and 53.
Syncopy, a production company that the two co-founded and manage, has produced numerous of their hit films.
It was previously mentioned by Nolan that his wife “always saw things the same way I did in terms of the importance of the medium”.
Nolan gave his wife credit for helping him become “one of the world’s most innovative and influential film directors” when he accepted the British Film Institute (BFI) Fellowship.
