Plans for a brand-new Netflix series based on Agatha Christie’s The Seven Dials Mystery were unveiled.
The bestselling novelist in history, Chris Chibnall, also a screenwriter for Doctor Who, was tasked by the streaming behemoths to adapt the mystery novel that has become a fan favorite. The Crown executive producer Suzanne Mackie will produce the upcoming miniseries.
The Queen of Mystery novelist’s tale centers on a party at which a practical joke on a heavy sleeper goes horrifyingly, terribly wrong.
In this thrilling tale, Gerry Wade, a heavy sleeper, awakens to an odd practical joke played on him by his roommates. However, the lighthearted jest quickly turns into a complex, hazardous, and dark investigation.
Since Gerry Wade had demonstrated his ability to sleep well, the other housemates decided to pull a practical prank on him. There were eight alarm clocks programmed to sound at regular intervals. However, one clock was missing when morning came, and the joke had disastrous results, according to the summary.
“There is still more for us to explore for audiences at Netflix,” said Anne Mensah, vice president of Netflix, in response to the noteworthy news. “Agatha Christie’s storytelling has been thrilling mystery lovers for generations.”
“I am excited to be bringing The Seven Dials Mystery to life and to be introducing a new generation of iconic Christie characters to the screen,” Mackie said, expressing her excitement for the live adaptation as well.
