On Thursday, just after 4:15 p.m., police were contacted in response to reports of a stabbing on Raby Street.
“This is a tragic and senseless loss of life, and at this time, our thoughts remain with the victim’s family and friends,” stated Detective Superintendent Simon Moyles. They will continue to be at the forefront of our thoughts as we seek to identify the person or people who are accountable.
Even though there haven’t been any arrests made as of yet, I want to reassure the neighborhood that there will be a noticeable police presence there in the following days to provide reassurance and conduct inquiries while we diligently work.
Anyone with information is requested to contact Crimestoppers or 101, and Greater Manchester Police is requesting any footage from the site.
