The recall capability will be available on upcoming Microsoft laptops as part of their artificial intelligence (AI) program Copilot+.
For example, if a user was shopping online and came saw a gorgeous brown leather bag, they may subsequently search for “brown leather bag” in Recall.The function will record everything the user does by snapping screenshots every few seconds. It then allows the user to scroll back over their previous activities and search.
However, after security concerns were raised over the function, the ICO stated, “We are making enquiries with Microsoft to understand the safeguards in place to protect user privacy.”
