According to authorities, eleven inmates—many of whom are charged with murder—have escaped from a jail in New Orleans.
The prisoners were found missing during a headcount at the Orleans Parish Jail on Friday morning at 08:30 local time (13:30 GMT), and it is believed that they escaped about midnight.
According to authorities, one prisoner was captured in the French Quarter of New Orleans.
The Orleans Parish Sheriff’s office declared that the fugitive inmates were “armed and dangerous” and that a search was in progress.
One escapee in downtown New Orleans was captured on a security camera, and Louisiana State Police used facial recognition technology to identify him as Kendall Myles.
