Malala Yousafzai, a Pakistani education campaigner and the youngest recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize, has reaffirmed her demand for a “immediate” ceasefire in Gaza in response to the latest Israeli bombardment on a United Nations school that is housing displaced Palestinians.
After Israel’s forces attacked another UN school, killing dozens of people, including children, Yousafzai took to X, the platform that was formerly known as Twitter, to make a demand.
The UN-run school was situated in the Nuseirat camp in the center of Gaza. Local government officials told Al Jazeera that the Israeli forces killed at least forty individuals in this school, most of them being women and children.
“The fact that Israel targeted a school in Gaza where thousands of civilians were seeking shelter appals me. Targeting schools is never appropriate.
