MURREE: Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, the president of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), declared on Saturday that he was the type of person who did not harbor ill will, hatred, or desire for retribution against others.
Nawaz added that Imran Khan, the founder of the Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI), usually acted like an irate man, without mentioning him by name.
“Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, I will drag you here, he once said at a public rally,” he said, criticizing the PTI founder for his derogatory comments directed at the then-prime minister.
This was stated by the former prime minister during a speech to the PML-N parliamentary members in Murree today.
Conversely, he stated that he was in contact with the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and that his party had signed the Charter of Democracy alongside former prime minister Benazir Bhutto.
According to the PML-N president, Khan received threats to have the air conditioning in his prison cell taken out throughout his reign. He declared, nonetheless, that he did not think in political retaliation.
As Khan is currently serving his jail term, the three-time prime minister said that he had not even considered it.
It should be mentioned that the administration has often offered Khan a helping hand, but the other side, which preferred to have discussions with the “real stakeholders” alone, has rejected the offer.
