Imran Khan, the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), accepted Omar Ayub, the PTI secretary general,’s resignation on Thursday.
Ayub made the following announcement on X, formerly Twitter: “I am most grateful to PM Imran Khan sahib for accepting my resignation as Secretary General PTI to focus on my role as Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly of Pakistan.”
The resignation letter was sent to PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan and Imran Khan on June 22, 2024.

He said that during a meeting at Adyala Jail, Imran Khan was informed about Ayub’s resignation by Senator Shibli Faraz, the Senate’s Leader of the Opposition.
“Per PM Imran Khan’s instructions, more adjustments to the PTI’s organizational structure would be implemented in the near future.
He thanked the Tanzeem office bearers, members of parliament, and the PTI family for their unwavering devotion to the party and its leadership.
