A resolution denouncing a recent resolution issued by the US House of Representatives was passed by the National Assembly on Friday.

During the session, members of the Sunni Ittehad Council loudly voiced their dissatisfaction of the resolution put forth by Shaista Parvez Malik, a leader of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and member of the National Assembly.

Despite the protests and chants raised by Sunni Ittehad Council members, the resolution was passed by a majority vote. The assembly became agitated as they yelled, “Cipher Cipher” and “Shame Shame,” expressing their disapproval.

Millions of Pakistanis took part in democratic elections, and any foreign meddling in the country’s internal affairs is unacceptable, according to the resolution that was passed. It encouraged the Pakistani government to fortify bilateral relations with the US on the basis of mutual respect and called on the US and the international community to resolve human rights violations in Gaza and Kashmir.
