With just a few days to go until the UK election, a recent YouGov survey has provided valuable insights into the voting habits and inclinations of the nation’s ethnic minorities, particularly South Asian and Pakistani communities.

According to the survey, a significant portion of Pakistani voters are moving more in favor of the Green party, even if the Labor Party leads among other parties with 53% of minorities planning to vote for them.

The Greens have gained more support because to Keir Starmer’s position on the Gaza crisis, which is supported by the majority Muslim communities in Bangladesh and Pakistan. Of the voters from these localities, 41% considered the Gaza conflict to be a significant deciding factor when casting their ballot.

Only 28% of respondents in Pakistan and Bangladesh support Starmer, while 78% think the labor leader has handled the Gaza crisis extremely poorly, according to the poll.

Their decision to vote was influenced by a number of reasons, including the cost of living, the National Health Service (NHS), and the status of the economy, in addition to the Gaza issue.

Compared to the general population, ethnic minority groups have been disproportionately impacted by the rise in living expenses. According to reports, 66% of the group has had to make significant changes to their typical expenditure as a result of the increase, and 62% more say they will need to make concessions soon.
