Filmmaker Sardmad Khoosat made a controversial revelation in 2020 about receiving threatening phone calls and messages prior to the debut of his film “Zindagi Tamasha.”
In a lengthy letter posted on X, the former Twitter, Khoosat stated that his film has been approved by the censors and does not include any offensive content.
The “Manto” actor, however, chose not to identify the individuals pressuring him to prevent Zindagi Tamasha from being released.
Even though the movie had a release date, the Punjabi government had halted its distribution, so its theatrical debut was postponed indefinitely.
After receiving accolades in Busan and at the 2021 Asian World Film Festival in Los Angeles, the movie was finally uploaded on YouTube on August 4, 2023.
