The 81-year-old US president has been under increasing pressure since his appalling performance during a debate against Mr. Trump, 78, last month.
When he introduced Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the president of Ukraine, as “President Putin” during a NATO conference in Washington, DC, he unintentionally made matters worse. At a press conference afterward, he referred to his running mate, Kamala Harris, as “Vice President Trump”.

The complete list of well-known Democrats who have demanded that Mr. Biden resign is available here.
According to reports, former president Barack Obama informed allies that Mr. Biden’s chances of winning have significantly decreased.

According to two individuals acquainted with Mr. Obama’s thoughts, “concerns” exist regarding his capacity to continue as the Democratic nominee.

According to one of the individuals, he believes Mr. Biden’s path to victory in November is “getting harder”.

Nancy Pelosi, the former speaker of the House, is said to be concerned that Joe Biden is pulling the party down, even though she has not officially called for him to go.

Politico was informed by one of Pelosi’s allies that she would do “everything in her power” to exclude him from the race.
