In a recent decision, the federal anti-corruption court cleared Senate Chairman Yusuf Raza Gilani of 14 corruption accusations connected to the TDAP.
The court declared that there was no proof that money had been transferred into Gilani’s accounts, and a crucial witness who was set to testify was instead charged. Furthermore, it was decided that the deceased Makhdoom Amin Fahim was innocent.
Gilani and other defendants were further exonerated of all remaining accusations in the massive corruption case by the Karachi court, which ruled that it was unfair to drag out the proceedings for 14 years.
It pointed out that most of the people listed in the instances were willing to repay the disputed funds, highlighting the lack of strong proof against them.
