YouTube has announced an amendment to its monetization policy under the YouTube Partnership Programme (YPP), which will formally take effect on July 15, 2025.
The most recent revision to the policy states that “inauthentic content” with more precise definitions will take the place of the former “repetitive content” category.
“Content that viewers perceive as spammy, highly repetitive, or mass-produced is not eligible for monetization,” clarified René Ritchie, head of creative liaison at YouTube. Creators who create unique, significant content are the target audience for the YouTube Partner Program.
YouTube will give priority to genuine and original content. Clarity, precision, and uniqueness are more important than a change in enforcement.
