In a startling episode from Musk’s early years, the tech magnate scared his mother, Maye Musk, by refusing to be grounded and going on a risky adventure.
The episode demonstrated Musk’s tenacious nature even at a young age and was posted in an old video by a user on X.
Musk described the incident in the video, saying, “One afternoon, I was grounded and couldn’t go to a play with my cousins across town. I didn’t agree with this, so I left my nanny and strolled across the city.
This was a dumb move, and I could hardly see signs. I may have been run over or abducted, among other horrible things.” Musk was adamant about seeing the play regardless of the hazards, so he traveled the whole length of the capital city on foot.
In response to the video, Maye Musk recollected the event and expressed shock that a young child could cross a busy street unaided. “This is something I clearly recall. Since he was illiterate, I believe he was five years old.
We’re still baffled as to how he managed to cross the street unopposed. Horrifying,” she wrote on the social media site.
