The new domestic season has been presented by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), with notable modifications to the central contract structure.
A total of 150 players will compete in all three Champions Cup formats, down from the 360 players that had central contracts from PCB in the previous season. Participants who don’t take part in the Champions Cup will not be qualified for a central contract.
The PCB has raised the number of matches, match fees, and central contract salaries in spite of the decrease in contracts. Players in Categories 1 through 3 will now earn monthly payments of Rs. 550,000, Rs. 400,000, and Rs. 250,000, respectively.Compared to the previous season, when players in the A Plus to F categories made between Rs 300,000 and Rs 50,000 per month, this represents a huge gain.
Additionally, there are now only three categories instead of the previous seven, with 40 players in Category 1, 50 in Category 2, and 60 in Category 3. Domestic cricket match fees have also been revised increased.
ODI players will now get Rs. 125,000, T20 players Rs. 100,000, and red ball cricket players Rs. 200,000 each match. Red ball and white ball cricket match fees were Rs 80,000 and Rs 40,000, respectively, last season.
