According to sources on Friday, the Judicial Commission of Pakistan finalized the draft regulations pertaining to judge appointments during a recent meeting. The members would be seen the revised document during the September 28 meeting.
“The JCP registrar released a press release on Friday stating that the draft rules should be fully compliant with the provisions of the Constitution,” the release stated.
A consensus was reached after suggestions were made. The meeting’s participants recommended adding more proformas to accommodate the various categories and making the required changes.
It was determined to change the draft rules in order to address the same. After the meeting, the participants recommended that Senior Puisne Judge Justice Mansoor Ali Shah and Chief Justice of Pakistan Qazi FaezIsa modify the aforementioned draft rules to reflect the consensus reached and submit them at the commission’s subsequent meeting.
