under a video statement to Al Jazeera, Gaza’s civil defense claims that despite relentless Israeli bombardment of its personnel, vehicles, headquarters, and field locations, it executed over 22,000 rescue missions “in tragic conditions.”
The civil defense’s director of supply and finance affairs, Mohammed al-Mughayir, stated that Israeli vehicle shelling and bulldozing have rendered all civil defense headquarters inoperable.
He said that two attacks on teams in the eastern Gaza neighborhood of Tuffah resulted in the deaths of twelve people.
Al-Mughayir noted that more than 200 people were injured and that the death toll from the rescue squad was 45. He verified that several civil defense employees were detained by the Israeli army while they were performing their duties.
