According to officials, a battle with a gunman in Pennsylvania on Wednesday resulted in the deaths of three law enforcement officers and the critical injuries of two more.
According to state police commissioner Colonel Christopher Paris, the incident occurred in Codorus Township, a town in York County in southeast Pennsylvania, when the participating officers went back to the location of some previous police activity.
“They were there to follow up on an investigation that began yesterday,” he said hours later when he addressed reporters at a press conference. The only explanation he offered for the situation was that the inquiry was “domestic-related.”
